What is EAGALA?
Horses are large and powerful creatures. As a prey animal they have the ability to empower us through simple metaphorical exercises. As herd animals, their natural behaviors can mirror our own social groups. Horses communicate with body language, no words. This kind of communication can be non‐threatening and non-combative for those seeking discovery in a unconventional therapy program.
Building a bond, trust and confidence while grooming or even walking a horse. Observing equine dynamics and watching horses communicate with the herd while exercising various programs can open doors to self‐awareness.
The facility offers a platform that allows horses to contribute to a positive change for those who feel emotionally lost, frustrated, sad or unconnected. Our programs offer a chance to improve personal communications, leadership skills and inner peace.
Although our programs are suited for anyone – we have a special interest in serving members or former members of the Armed Forces.
EAGALA is the leading international nonprofit association for professionals using equine therapy to address mental health and human development needs. Our vision is that every person worldwide will have access to these services known as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning.
There are now over 500 EAGALA programs, with professionals trained and certified through EAGALA, providing services helping change the lives of people with a diverse range of struggles such as street children in Mexico and South Africa, those suffering from addictions, depression and trauma, and improving relationships in families and groups.
EAGALA has over 3,500 members in 41 countries.
